ABOUT

Macho Flora

Mark Ramirez GARDEN DESIGNER

I’ve lived my entire life in desert or Mediterranean climates, inspired by the beauty of drought-tolerant landscapes. Growing up, I took every opportunity to explore my creativity and interest in design. For years I worked as an artist and designer in film, television, retail, and marketing.

I started Macho Flora to make use of all this experience and do what I love most: create beautiful spaces and landscapes that respect the environment and cultivate a sense of well-being for those who spend time in them.

Prior to starting Macho Flora in 2017, Mark was a volunteer at The Ruth Bancroft Garden where he completed their Docent Training Program. In 2015, he received formal recognition from The Plant Exchange Garden Awards program. The gardens at his home have appeared in online publications and are regularly featured on organized garden tours. He is a member of the San Francisco Succulent & Cactus Society, the San Francisco Bromeliad Society and the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society.

What a client has to say

“My new garden is really impressive and requires hardly any water. I wholeheartedly recommend Macho Flora to my friends and clients for garden design and installation.”
